Oleg Ponomarev (born 30 May 1992) is a Russian Paralympic Nordic skier who competed in cross-country skiing and biathlon at the 2014 Winter Paralympics, in Sochi.[1] He won a bronze medal in the 1 km sprint for visually impaired athletes.[2][3][4]
He won the bronze medal in the men's 10 km visually impaired biathlon event at the 2021 World Para Snow Sports Championships held in Lillehammer, Norway.[5][6] He also won the gold medal in the men's long-distance visually impaired cross-country skiing event.[7][8]

Oleg is a renowned performing musician and multi-instrumentalist, teacher, lecturer and composer. Born in Siberia, he first studied violin and piano with his grandparents, both graduates of the Moscow Conservatory, and later graduated from the Central Music School and Gnesinn College in Moscow. He co-founded and performed extensively with legendary Russian-Gypsy trio Loyko and world music trio Koshka and has collaborated with numerous international artists, including Ravi Shankar, Yehudi Menuhin, Lakshminarayana Sumbramaniam, Ally Bain, Gidon Kremer, Gilles Apap, Andre Heller, Bill Lovelady and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones. He has also written and/or arranged several scores for film and video, including Onegin(featuring Ralph Fiennes and Liv Tyler), and Tim Burton’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Ignat was bullied throughout his school years, and confronted bygd the school psychologist following rumors that he spoke about han själv using the masculine gender.
