Bangla Radio - Selected Categoy
This week's program producer Avijeet Sarker had to attend an urgent work related appointment. Replacement producer Sadequr Rahman availed this opportunity to open Bangla Radio's archive of 'Old is Gold' songs. Amid the backdrop of Canberra's late winter cloud and occasional rain, he has chosen songs of renowned Indian artist Hemanta Mukhapadhay and famous Bangladeshi singer Abdul Alim. Hemanta's songs represented 'palki', 'nouka baoa', 'dhan katar gaan' and 'joarer gaan'. Abdul Alim's songs are: 'meghnar kule', 'eije dunia' and 'porer jaega'. A very good selection of songs that will be liked by our listeners.
This week's program presented a collection of popular songs by Bangladesh's celebrity singer Kumar Bishwajit who is coming to Canberra for a concert - 'Shudhui Gaan' - on 27 November
