Aryabhatta is the first of the great astronomers of the classical age of India. He was born in Kerala, South India in AD but later lived in Kusumapura, which his commentator Bhaskara I ( AD) identifies with pataliputra (modern Patna) in Bihar. His first name “Arya” is hardly a south Indian name while “Bhatt” (or Bhatta) is a typical north Indian name even found today specially among the trader community. District level Aryabhatta Science competition held at Udalguri
The district level science based competitions for the Aryabhatta Science Centres of Udalguri district was held at Udalguri Higher Secondary School premise on November 8 with day long competition was organized by Udalguri district administration in association with Assam Science Technology and Environment Council,Guwahati (ASTEC) as part of the annual science based competitions like science based model making,science based poster drawing and science based extempore speech for the school students of the district.
