    Michael Morpurgo is an English author known for his children's novels. He has been writing successfully for over 30 years. Many of his stories have been adapted for stage, film, and music. Some of his most famous works include War Horse, Private Peaceful, and The Butterfly Lion. War Horse tells the story of a farm horse recruited to fight in World War 1 and his journey through the trenches. It was adapted into a successful play and film. Private Peaceful is about two brothers fighting in World War 1 and the injustice one faces. The Butterfly Lion depicts the friendship between a boy and orphaned lion cub that are separated.
